NYFW music: Rapper G

Though Justin Timberlake is currently down under in Australia for The 20/20 Experience Tour, his premium fashion label Noble by William Rast made its New York Fashion Week debut Sunday night at The Paramount Hotel in NYC's Theater District with an immersive theatrical production from Queen of the Night (think upscale carnival act with Cirque du Soleil-like acrobats) served with dinner.

Under the direction of brand's co-founder Trace Ayala (also Timberlake's bestie) and creative director Marcella Lindeberg, Noble by William Rast's women's and men's collection offered a moody vibe for spring 2015. The range, which rotated between a color palette of white, red, grey and black, featured pieces such as a sleeveless collared shirt plastered with grommet rings, leather and fringe mini dress and quilted leather vest for women, and leather jackets, an all-red suit, and fitted blazers for men.

Taking a cue from Rebecca Minkoff‘s shows of including a musical guest star, the presentation also offered a surprise performance from rapper G-Eazy (or as Billboard calls him, "The Young Elvis"). While the models worked the runway, the Oakland-born hip-hop star performed three singles, including "I Mean It," with the crowd clapping along in between taking bites of roasted pork, beef ribs and kale salad off their plates.

During the mini-concert, G-Eazy donned an all-black ensemble (designed by William Rast), which he says is his go-to outfit. "[It's simple and clean. I hate picking out what to wear so I just keep it all black," he told Pret-a-Reporter after the show. After NYFW, the songwriter shares, "I’m about to go out on another tour and I’m getting started on my next album."

Though he has yet to meet the "Suit and Tie" singer in person, G-Eazy says, "I’ll probably faint when I do." Us, too.
